There is a difference between 3D animation and 2D animation

2D animation is different from 3D animation. 2D animation is fundamentally based on hand drawing frames. 3D animation, however, is almost exclusively done on a computer.

2D animation allows the character to remain in two poses between two keyframes. The frames in between are drawn individually. If the character closes its eyes, there is no need to draw an eyeball image.

In 3D animation, all parts of the character will be present at all times. The eyeballs in the 3D model will be used to create the scene. However, when the character closes its eyes, its eyeballs will remain behind the eyelids.

In 2D animation, you only draw what is necessary to see. If a character must keep its hand behind its back, then there will not be any need to draw the entire hand, which is by default covered by the body.

3D animation offers a slight advantage over 2D animation in that the character is situated in a 3D space, and the camera angle can change at any angle in real-time. However, 2D animation is fixed from the first keyframe, so adjusting the camera angle will require redrawing the entire sequence.

3D animation can be simplified in the same way. The software can interpolate between keyframes that are approximately ten frames apart and create animation. In 2D animation, however, the animator will need to spend a lot of time drawing each frame accurately.

The frame rate is another difference between 2D animation and 3D animation. 3D animation generally runs at 24 frames per second (fps). 2D animation can be done at half the speed, 12 frames per second (or “working io2s”). This form draws only 12 frames instead of 24 frames per second. It retains the flow and doesn’t appear irregular.
